As Program Director of the Women in Energy initiative at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy, Jessica Weis leads strategy, programming, and partnerships that support the advancement of women in the energy sector. The initiative’s mission is to expand the talent pipeline, foster inclusive workplace cultures, and support women's professional growth across the industry. With a background spanning higher education, government, and the nonprofit sector, Jessica brings nearly 20 years of experience in program development, facilitation, management, and coaching. Before Columbia, Jessica spent nearly ten years in New York City government, creating job-training programs and supporting New Yorkers as they earned their GEDs. She also served as Program Director of the Petey Greene Program, which provides academic support to incarcerated students. Her career began in direct service with AmeriCorps NCCC, where she developed a lasting commitment to service and social impact. In addition to her role at Columbia, Jessica works with individuals through a private coaching practice, supporting them primarily with career transitions and leadership development. Her coaching is separate from her work with Women in Energy and focuses on helping clients navigate career transitions, grow as leaders, build clarity and confidence, and lead intentionally.
